Young Sisters: Race Towards Ramadan. Starts April 20

Allah (swt) says in the Qur’an: “And race (one another) to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous” [3:133]

The blessed month of Rajab is here and we are a little under two months away from the blessed month of Ramadan (may Allah allow us all to reach it!)

The pious predecessors used to prepare for Ramadan months in advance by renewing their intentions, performing voluntary fasts, and getting into the habit of reciting Qur’an and doing more good than usual.

Join us every Thursday at Masjid al Huda as we prepare ourselves for this blessed month! We invite you to fast with us every Thursday as we will have a light iftar together during halaqa and discuss different topics to better prepare us for Ramadan.

4/20: Qur’an by heart: How to develop a relationship with the Qur’an

4/27: Fiqh of Fasting

5/4: Creating a Ramadan “Game-plan”

5/11: Fountains of Forgiveness

5/18: Maximizing deeds like a Millionaire

5/25: A Productive Muslimah’s Ramadan

Meaningful Prayer with Sh AbdulNasir Jangda, May 19 to 21

A COURSE ON THE VOCABULARY & LINGUISTIC BEAUTY OF SALAH

Of the acts of worship that Muslims have to perform on a daily basis, salah is the most essential of them all. This prophetic ritual that we perform is a conversation between ourselves and Allah(swt) filled with beautiful statements of remembrance and wisdom five times a day. It is very common for us to miss out on the opportunity to fully grasp the benefit of prayer. In this journey of truly attaining this benefit while performing prayer with an attentive and tranquil heart it means that we have to do our best to understand not just the literal meaning, but also the deeper spiritual benefit of why we utter specific words and phrases in our salah.

Turn your salah into an experience! Take this journey and change the way you communicate with Allah. Join us for the powerful Meaningful Prayer seminar, learn the linguistic meaning and beauty behind each word of your daily salah. Thousands of students across the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada have taken this class, and now you have the opportunity to join them by signing up today.

Food Drive 2017

The Prophet (S.A.W.) said, “Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.” [Reported by Al-Tirmidhi]

These are trying times for our brothers and sisters around the world as famine spreads, wars continue, and fear of the unknown leads to hatred of Muslims. These examples would certainly qualify as calamities—now is the time to protect your community from the injustice of hunger.

Give food at one of our participating locations through April 30 during our annual Food Drive. Even better, donate funds and help us stretch each dollar to buy more food through our partnerships with Second Harvest Heartland and local retailers. Our goal this year:
– To raise $15,000, which will help us run our monthly food shelf all year long
– To collect at least 10,000 pounds of non-perishable food items

When and where:
– Entire month of April
– Masaajid (mosques), grocery stores, schools (full-time and weekend schools) and local restaurants. See the locations below. Thank you to our community partners for your support!
Online on our website.

Tag us in your photos and use the hashtag #FeedTheNeed and #NeedtoFeed when you’re out dropping off food or donations for Building Blocks this April. We’re also on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and SnapChat.
