Want to homeschool, but don’t know where to start?

Worried about finding the right curriculum? Socialization? How they will get into college? And, what’s a virtual school anyway?

These questions and more will be answered, in sha Allah.

Our workshop facilitator, Sr. Shannen Espelien, has been homeschooling her children since 2009, first in a Virtual School, then in a traditional homeschool since 2011. She has led several Homeschool 101 workshops in the past and maintains a blog on homeschooling and parenting for Muslims. You can learn more about Sr. Shannen’s work at www.middlewaymom.com.

This free workshop takes place in the basement meeting hall of the ARAHA building where the Building Blocks office is located.

Family Fun Day 2017

Spring is here and it’s time again for our Annual Family Fun Day!

Let’s come together to embrace our ties of family and friendship, and also fight hunger in our community.

Join us on April 29th at Huset Park for a SPECTACULAR DAY inshaAllah. There will be games, bouncy castles, children’s activities and much more! Please see the flier for details.

At the event, we’ll also be collecting food as part of our food drive to help those in need in our community. Please bring a non-perishable item to donate inshaAllah.

Family, Friends, Food and You – Have fun while also making a difference!

And remember you don’t have to wait until the Fun Day to share the blessings. Our Food Drive is going on now and we have food bins at various locations. You can also donate funds on our website, www.thebuildingblocks.org.

P.S. Tag us in your photos and use the hashtag #FeedTheNeed when you’re out dropping off food or donations for Building Blocks this April.
